$*$ Haas Jordan 62 Inch Hurricane 345 Tour Plus Umbrella Black

While I do like the fact that the umbrella is big (wide) enough to keep comfortably dry under most circumstances, The fact is that this umbrella is not worth the price.

Although billed as having a non-pinching frame, this is not at all accurate. First of all, this umbrella does not open automatically and has the traditional little metal wings that are spring loaded and recessed into the frame that keep the umbrella in the open, stretched position. It is quite easy to have your fingers pinched in this mechanism. Also, I have noticed that the little metal wings are made of a flimsy type of metal and can easily bend.

What bothers me the most about this umbrella is the shoddy construction. The umbrella is made in China which shouldn't necessarily result in poor quality if there is adequate quality control. Obviously there is not. when folded the umbrella is fastened closed by a nylon bank that uses Velcro. Of three umbrellas purchased, the dewing used to fasten the Velcro to the nylon is shoddy and the velcro hangs on literally by a thread. If you do not take this into account and carefully unfasten the strap when you want to open the umbrella, the Velcro will tear completely off.

Better would be to purchase the Wilson Hope umbrella. Although also made in China, the umbrella is well constructed with an attention to detail that the Haas-Jordan umbrella is sorely lacking.
